'All the Links' - a tidy little resource to support A level (Edexcel) set works
by Liz Dunbar @HuntSchoolMusic
It's going to happen. You're always on the go. You hear things in passing, something on the radio, something on TV, a film, and you ping out a link to students. It's yet another bit of gold dust that distills the essence of something you've been teaching that week, and you've just got to pass it on. And you get to the end of the week, the term, the year and because you are constantly flying by the seat of your pants, you repeat and remake instead of collating, and keeping, editing, and filtering.
There are countless times when I've spent hours making a resource, only to find I made something really similar a year ago, that I had totally forgotten about, and could have used as the basis for the thing I've just spent half a day making.
'All the Links' began life as a collection of ...well..... all the links.... I sent out to students at some point or another in years 12 and 13. You know what's it's like... you bump into great resources all the time, and you pass things on.... read that, watch this..... in lessons, emails, Teams. The initial lists were curated by @HuntSchoolMusic alumna Holly Boyle during her time studying A level Music with us, and they have proved to be a massively helpful starting point for subsequent A level students who, in turn, have continued to curate the resource.
It's likely that you will be aware of most of this stuff, but it is just so handy having a decent chunk of material all in one place.
And a big thank you to Holly for being proactive, thoughtful, spotting a need, knowing what to do to help, making a difference, being part of the team.
So here are 'All the Links' for all 13 set works. Get in touch and let us know if you've got other gems we can add to our resource.
